Join us Valentine’s day weekend as we gather at Big Bear Retreat Center to connect with our local SOCAL community to explore themes of universal goodwill or loving-friendliness. This invitational is offered to guests free of charge with the option to offer a contribution to the center at registration.

Mettā meditation, or loving-kindness meditation, is a Buddhist practice for cultivating compassion for ourselves and others through directing loving, friendly phrases and goodwill. This practice inspires us to  become more honest and loving toward ourselves and the world around us.

This retreat is offered to guests free of charge. However, participants are invited, if possible, to contribute toward the cost of the retreat and on-site offerings. A suggested contribution of $300 helps support the retreat and includes access to optional massage offerings, with sessions offered at approximately 30 minutes per person, as availability allows.

WHAT IS A Community Builders Retreat?

At Big Bear Retreat Center, we offer annual retreats for the local nonprofit and philanthropic sectors focused on R&R and community building.
