
Bill Resnick
Bill Resnick co-founded Big Bear Retreat Center with Robb De Forest in 2018, fulfilling a long-held wish to see a meditation retreat center take root in Southern California. He serves as President of Southern California Retreat Foundation, the nonprofit that operates BBRC and the Foundation’s other retreat properties and programs.
A psychiatrist by training, Bill has worked as a community psychiatrist at AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Venice Family Clinic, where he continues to volunteer. He has been a dedicated meditation practitioner since 2010 and is a certified mindfulness teacher. He currently serves as a trustee at American Jewish World Service and the Aspen Institute, and his philanthropic work focuses on community building, racial equity, criminal justice reform, and international human rights.
A Los Angeles native, Bill grew up in Culver City and splits his time between West Hollywood and Big Bear.
