
Kate Davies
Kate Davies D.Phil. is a mindfulness teacher and mentor. She has had a daily Buddhist practice for more than twenty years and has studied Tibetan and Theravada teachings. She leads an online meditation group and teaches at various Sanghas in the Pacific Northwest.
Kate spent her career working on environmental & social policy and personal change. She is currently Board Chair and President of the Saranaloka Foundation, Professor Emerita at Antioch University, and Senior Fellow at the Whidbey Institute. She is the author of two award-winning books – The Rise of the US Environmental Health Movement (Rowman & Littlefield, 2013) and Intrinsic Hope: Living Courageously in Troubled Times (New Society Publ., 2018).
Kate is a mother and a grandmother. She lives on Tscha-kole-Chy, also known as Whidbey Island, WA, with her husband George.
