Thomas Davis IV

Thomas Davis IV, is a Meditation / Mindfulness Instructor, Mentor and Contemplative Artist who is presently based in Los Angeles, CA. Thomas curiously endeavors to find the common alignments of various streams of wisdom contained in the spiritual practices of the Buddhist, Judea-Christian, Islamic and Hindu traditions; and quite often those common alignments are discovered within the Arts, Literature, Sciences and Music offered through those Cultures.

Overtime and patient revisionings, Thomas has identified that The Core of his practice and purpose rooted in a Commitment to Service. His services are offered in ways that guide and support those who also desire to be of service and who also desire to explore the mysterious and rewarding pathways of finding their voice and the agency to be themselves at all times.

His Dharma Practice and Teacher Training experiences began 13 years ago at the East Bay Meditation Center in Downtown Oakland, CA, and was proceeded by over 10 years of service as a Lay Minister and Teacher at the Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, in West Oakland, CA.

In a whirlwind of time and experiences he was fortunate to complete several tiers of Leadership trainings through Spirit Rock Community Dharma Leader Program (2015-2017), Co-Founded a Community Sangha InsightRichmond in Richmond, CA (2017), Completed the Sati Center for Buddhist Chaplaincy Training (2018) and completed UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) in (2019). The past 5 years primarily working with students nationally and internationally as a Mentor in MMTCP – (Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program).

Thomas has been serving with InsightLA Meditation Center in Los Angeles, CA since 2018 and he is developing my own platform Avant-Dharma which represents my continual growing process, ideas and influences.

Thomas loves to connect with people who know that there has to be something more to what they see, believe and experience.
